Artist
I’m a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. I’ve been into drawing/ creating art since 2nd grade. My teacher told my mother that your son is into drawing and not like the rest of the kids. I was always drawing things that I loved to do, or be at. I would create football scenes or a Mardi Gras parade, mainly because I enjoyed those everything about them. My teacher (Mrs. Evans) told my mom that she think that I should be in the school which was Gentilly Terrace at the time talent art program. There I would meet the best art teacher I would ever have in my life (Mrs Patrica Kaschalk). She thought me so much about art history and New Orleans art and black art history, I truly think that where my true love from art was built and she absolutely nourished it.
Since then I’ve always been I’m some type of talent art program so about time I got to high school I attended NOCCA New Orleans Center for Creative Arts. I learned so much about how to use structure as a artist and learning values and principles of art.
Growing up I never really took art as something I could do to try to make a living in life. I mainly used art/drawing as a way to escape out of the everyday life just like I did when I was in 2nd grade. I always used it a way to cope with any situation I had going on. My mom would tell me all the time growing up “boy you are gonna be a artist”. You have the god given talent, I would always respond mom art would never pay any bills. Ever since my mom passing and me moving my family and I back home to New Orleans everything that happens has just been a stepping stone to become a creator for life. She manifested this and it’s just so crazy how things are falling into place. She is definitely one of the main reason why I keep going with a full heart and the best energy.
With love
